Assistant Retail Manager

Las Vegas Locations Only

Job Description Summary:
Operates retail store at budgeted sales levels, with gross and net profit as per budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Personally leads sales efforts at store level to insure that each customer receives prompt, courteous service. To see that each customer's needs are met and appropriate companion merchandise is presented and sold.
  • Provides leadership at the store level to insure total compliance with corporate and division policies and procedures.
  • Is personally responsible for safeguarding corporate assets, which includes cash, inventory, equipment, supplies and property.
  • Insures appropriate merchandise is effectively displayed and properly tagged to stimulate sales, in conformance with company policy.
  • Maintains proper inventory levels to include Quantities, Freshness, Rotation of Stock, Follow proper ordering procedures from appropriate warehouse.
  • Maintains a high standard of store housekeeping at all times.
  • Constantly trains and develops store staff, keeping within personnel budgets.
  • Maintains strict control over controllable store expenses, i.e., utilities, telephone, in-store services, etc.
  • Maintains good morale and spirit through good principles of management. Keep lines of communication open, to and from store staff and division staff. Conducts weekly store meetings with all store personnel.
  • Renders required reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Coordinates all retail activities, not specifically listed above, that are required to insure daily and monthly sales and profit budgets are met. Advises and controls with division management on all matters where there is a question or problem.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
The number of people supervised varies from store to store, depending on the number of people employed.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discount interest commissions proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
